Introducing John Glang: A Legacy of Service and Commitment
"Continuing to serve those in need in my community remains a major priority for me," says John Glang, Vice President of the Constantino Family Foundation.
This sentiment encapsulates the spirit of a man whose career and personal philosophy have been deeply rooted in public service, community, and education. Inspired by his mother, Elizabeth Constantino, a dedicated public educator, John quickly learned the power of education and community service from a young age. His impressive career spanned over 40 years as a prosecutor, strongly committed to public protection and safeguarding the rights of crime victims. Now, in his retirement, John dedicates his time to volunteering, enriching his community through various roles, from moderating book clubs to driving for Meals on Wheels, to making home visits with the St. Vincent de Paul Society to persons in need in his community.
John's involvement with the Constantino Family Foundation is not just a role but a continuation of a lifelong commitment to community service. Founded in honor of Paul J. Constantino, an advocate of education, the Foundation reflects John's personal and professional ethos. He actively represents the Foundation, personally presenting financial donations to local organizations, schools, and participating in scholarship award ceremonies. His presence at these events is not merely ceremonial but a profound contribution to the educational aspirations of Bay Area students.
The Constantino Family Foundation, under the guidance of John and his fellow board members, is a testament to the belief that everyone deserves access to quality education and the opportunities it affords. As John meets the students that the foundation supports, he is reminded of the promise and potential of the next generation. His work ensures that the legacy of education and service continues to thrive, influencing countless lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
As we highlight John Glang in this edition of the "Meet the Board" series, we invite you to join us in supporting the Constantino Family Foundation's mission. Whether through volunteering, donations, or spreading the word, your involvement can make a significant difference. Together, we can plant seeds that will grow into "flourishing evergreen oak trees," benefiting our community and beyond. John's story is a call to action for all of us to contribute to a legacy of learning and community support.
